"KEEP IT OPEN;" Sarasota County outlines plan for reopened Midnight Pass
A waterway closed for more than four decades that was recently reopened following Hurricane Milton and Hurricane Helene will remain open, according to Sarasota County officials. Midnight Pass, located between Siesta and Casey Keys, was filled in over concerns of property damage in the 1980's, until storms allowed water to flow freely once again.
