Huge thanks to the Monterey Jazz Festival for posting this video today. I had never seen footage of this 2012 trio gig with Pat Metheny & Jack DeJohnette - from Jack’s 70th birthday celebration. As the tributes to our beloved Jack continue to pour in, this video reminds me of something I’ve always loved to say: If you drive south on the West Side Highway from 125th street to the 56th Street exit at 80 MPH blindfolded at 5pm and you make it alive, then you’ve just traded 12’s with Jack DeJohnette
