Beginning in May, 2026, the Chisos Mountain area of Big Bend will close to visitors for about two years while a new lodge, visitor center and camp store are built. This closure will include the road, the campground, and all hiking trail access in this area, including popular trails like Lost Mine, the Window, and Emory Peak.
