Almost a century ago, visionary leadership at Albuquerque High School inspired graduating classes to invest in building an art collection featuring New Mexican artists. In 1945, the Classes of ’43, ’44, and ’45 acquired Star Road and White Sun (1920) by Ernest Blumenschein, one of the founders of the Taos art colony. In 1985, the Albuquerque Museum purchased the Albuquerque High School Art Collection through General Obligation Bonds, ensuring these treasures became part of our community’s cultur
