Thousands of people affected by crime in Scotland might not be getting the support they need, according to a leading charity. Victim Support Scotland says it's seeing a drop in the number of people being referred for its services. The organisation says that's down to data protection laws which changed in 2018 - which mean police can't pass on the details of people who might need support. #stvnews #scotland #victim # | STV News

A charity has warned that the emergency release of hundreds of prisoners in Scotland will create “more victims”. We will always treat you fairly and with respect, and we’ll investigate every report. You can report it to us by calling 101 – always 999 in an emergency. Help stop rape. Make sure the person you’re with is consenting, know what the law is and challenge attitudes that disturb you. You can also take the White Ribbon Scotland pledge - a campaign to involve men in tackling violence against women. It is a joint initiative by a coalition of organisations, individuals and groups of men around Scotland. www.whiteribbonscotland.org.uk | Police Scotland
