1208 James Street is for sale for $829,000. The pictures above are a combination of images I snapped while attending an estate sale there in 2024, and ones from the listing. The listing is linked in my bio - it reads, “The main house features over 10,000 SQFT of finished space. Two beautifully designed, spacious apartments, offering a luxurious residential component that enhances the property’s value. A state-of-the-art elevator with designated code for each floor ensures accessibility throughou

@books_and_melodies at 2600 James Street since 1993. When I was a kid, I would always find the best sports posters in the basement here. I remember being pumped to find a Dee Brown Celtics poster here once (now it’s in my basement). #syracuse #syracusehistory 📚 🎵 | SyracuseHistory

Inside the Gere Building in Syracuse. Constructed in 1894, this structure was built for James Belden and named after his father-in-law, Robert Gere. The Gere building was designed by Charles Colton and originally operated as a bank. In recent years, the building was redeveloped as a personal home.

930 James Street in Syracuse, NY. It was built in 1853, but in 1884 local architect, Joseph Lyman Silsbee, was hired by George and Rebecca Barnes to redesign the dining room seen above. Silsbee was the first employer and mentor of Frank Lloyd Wright. #oldhouse #oldhousetiktok

I have great news. A few weeks ago, I shared that over 400 sketches by Harry G. Aitken had been found in a #Syracuse home. Aitken was a local designer who worked as the head of the decorating department at Onondaga Pottery Co - later known as Syracuse China. He spent 49 years using his talents to bring his sketches to life on some of the most famous fine china America has ever seen. Born in 1867, Aitken worked out of his studio at 403 Hoefler Street here in Syracuse after learning pottery art un

Former Syracuse residents, the couple once lived at 637 James Street, a home they shared with one of their daughters. Their son, Leonard Walter Jerome, was born in Pompey Hill, New York in 1817.
