Karabiner 98k (Kar98k) - one of the most famous rifles in the world. Many consider it the best bolt action rifle of the Second World War. It was Wehrmacht's standard-issue rifle; the majority of the German soldiers were armed with this weapon. It is interesting to note that for all the prevalence of bolt action rifles (including the K98K), the combat effectiveness of this type of weapon (snipers aside) was relatively small.
