Jack walked home from church by himself today. And yes, we’ve done this a few other times — but it is still a big deal. Learning safety and doing things on his own takes repetition, and giving him that control and trust increases his confidence. It’s not always easy to let go as a parent. Especially as a parent of a child who has special needs. But he craves this kind of independence and we’re doing our best to give it to him.
