It's been around seven months since historic flooding hit Dickinson County last June. West Okoboji homeowners met with the Dickinson County Board of Supervisors about last summer’s damage — and to map out a plan to mitigate similar disasters in the future.

Oct 29, 2024 · Ground was broken Monday evening for a major Arnolds Park housing development organized by Spirit of Okoboji. The housing development is located just east of the Emerald Hills Golf Course. The development covers 38 acres of land between the golf course and the Lower Gar Recreational Area. Site work is currently underway, including 97 lots for residency and new holes at the golf course.

Jan 14, 2025 · Over the past week, we lost two dear friends, Frank “Snap” and Debbie Johnson of Spirit Lake. Snap, the “Jersey Boy” was full of life, incredible wit, and great humor.
