The Ramsey County CAT (Carjacking & Auto Theft) Unit has been hard at work to reduce and eliminate carjackings and to return vehicles to their rightful owners. Deputies in this unit, often supported by other members of the Ramsey County Sheriff's Office, spend their days pursuing juveniles that are all too often carrying loaded handguns.

Today, Ramsey County Sheriff’s Deputies assigned to the Carjacking and Auto Theft (CAT) Unit started the day by being alerted to a carjacking at gunpoint in Saint Paul. Three armed suspects pointed a handgun at the victim, who had to pull their child from the vehicle as it was stolen.
