Washington Attorney General Nick Brown said the executive order Trump signed on Monday is "unconstitutional on its face" and "un-American."

U.S. District Court Judge John Coughenour’s ruling in the case brought by Washington and three other states is the first in what is sure to be a long legal fight over the order’s constitutionality.

Brown on Tuesday announced a lawsuit targeting Trump’s executive order that aims to end birthright citizenship. Washington’s new AG, who was sworn in last week, decried the directive as “unconstitutional,” “cruel” and “simply un-American.”
