SAN JOSE -- Drew O'Connor scored on a penalty shot 33 seconds into overtime, and the Vancouver Canucks recovered for a 2-1 win against the San Jose Sharks at SAP Center on Thursday.

Drew O’Connor scored on a penalty shot 33 seconds into overtime to give the Vancouver Canucks a 2-1 win over the San Jose Sharks.

It was a low-scoring affair on Thursday night, as the Vancouver Canucks took on the San Jose Sharks in a 2–1 overtime win. Dakota Joshua and Drew O’Connor scored for the Canucks, while ex-Canuck Tyler Toffoli notched the tally for the Sharks.

The Vancouver Canucks beat the San Jose Sharks 2-1 in overtime on a penalty shot goal from forward Drew O’Connor. O’Connor has been with the team for less than a week, but he scored the second penalty shot winner in franchise history (the first was Ben Hutton).
