The Utah Jazz are coming off one of the most anticipated matchups of the whole summer that saw VJ Edgecombe and Ace Bailey go at it in a battle of top-five draft picks. While Bailey didn’t have the most efficient game, the Jazz came away victorious 93-89, and now look ahead to the Memphis Grizzlies.

Leading up to the 2025 NBA Draft, top prospect Ace Bailey’s camp reportedly put out word that he didn’t want to be selected by either the Charlotte Hornets or Utah Jazz. That apparently didn’t matter to the Jazz, who made the Rutgers star the fifth overall pick in the first round of the NBA Draft.

There were rumors about Bailey not even reporting for training camp, so the Jazz decided to help ease things up by making a few concessions. They allowed Omar Cooper Jr., the elder son of his agent, Omar Cooper, to be a guest coach for their Summer League team.
