The Ukrainian capital has been attacked by dozens of Russian combat drones, Kiev authorities said in the early hours of Friday. Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko said that the number of people injured had risen to 23.

Russia pummelled Kyiv with drones in an all-night attack, injuring at least 23 people, damaging railway infrastructure and setting buildings and cars on fire throughout the city, authorities in the Ukrainian capital said early on Friday.

Russia launched a record number of drones at Ukraine overnight into Friday, striking multiple buildings and residential areas, hours after US President Donald Trump said he had made “no progress” towards a ceasefire deal in a phone call with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin.
