Despite missing out on a Golden Globe after being nominated in two categories, All We Imagine as Light director Payal Kapadia has now earned a prestigious nomination at the 2025 DGA Awards.

On Monday, following the Golden Globes ceremony, Payal Kapadia took to Instagram to react to missing out on winning any award.

Filmmaker Payal Kapadia made history after receiving two nominations at the 82nd Golden Globes Awards for All We Imagine As Light. Kapadia was nominated for Best Director, and her film was in the running for Best Non-English Film.

Payal Kapadia’s All We Imagine As Light won many accolades overseas, including the prestigious Grand Prix at the 77th Cannes Film Festival last year, however, recently it lost out the Golden Globe award for the Best Foreign Language Film to Emilia Perez.
