McDonald's announced this week that bagel sandwiches are now available at locations across the country. That means customers can get a bacon, egg and cheese bagel sandwich or any other variety in all corners of the U.S.

McDonald's said Tuesday that it is doubling down on breakfast by introducing bagel sandwiches nationwide to celebrate the Egg McMuffin's 50th anniversary. Why it matters: Breakfast is big business for fast-food chains and expanding menus can boost morning sales.

"Whether you love the classic Bacon, Egg & Cheese or the iconic Steak, Egg & Cheese, McDonald’s has you covered, no matter where you are," the company said in announcing several special breakfast deals as part of the 50th anniversary celebration of the Egg McMuffin. The bagel sandwiches became available on Tuesday, Feb. 25.
