Apple has expanded its iPhone 16 lineup with the launch of the iPhone 16e, joining the iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Max. The company announced that the iPhone 16e, like the rest of the iPhone 16 series, will be assembled in India for both the local market and exports.

Following the production of the iPhone 13, iPhone 14, and iPhone 15 series, the newly announced iPhone 16e will also be manufactured in India, as confirmed by Apple. Additionally, the company has stated its commitment to enhancing local manufacturing.

Similar to other iPhone models such as the base models of the iPhone 15, iPhone 14, and iPhone 13, the iPhone 16E is being manufactured by Apple’s contract manufacturers in India. This change is in line with Apple’s overarching plan to expand its supply chain outside of China and take advantage of the quickly expanding smartphone market in India.

Apple has discontinued three of its popular iPhone models in India, surprising millions of Indian users. The company has removed these models from its official Apple Store.
