Gravell announced his resignation at the county Commissioners Court meeting. District Judge Betsy Lambeth swore Gravell into his new office as advocate a few minutes after Gravell resigned.

He's accepted a position with the U.S. Small Business Administration, a federal agency that provides support to small businesses and entrepreneurs.
