The Orioles announced that right-hander Matt Bowman has been designated for assignment. The move opens up a roster spot for fellow righty Scott Blewett, who was acquired from the Braves in a cash deal two days ago.

Blewett, 29, began the year on the Minnesota Twins, was claimed off waivers by the Orioles in April, and was then DFA'd and subsequently traded to the Braves for cash only five days later. Now, it's as if the Orioles have pulled the UNO reverse card.
