Authorities say a man fatally shot a Texas sheriff’s deputy in southwest Houston, prompting a massive search involving multiple law enforcement agencies

An officer was hospitalized and police were searching for one person after a shooting Thursday morning in southwest Houston, officials said. Officials with the Houston Police Department provided limited details about the shooting on Twitter, saying preliminary information was that someone had shot an officer from another agency and fled on foot.
