The New York Knicks have begun their search for their next head coach. Despite leading the team to the Eastern Conference Finals this season, Tom Thibodeau was fired by the team shortly after the series loss to the Indiana Pacers.

Although the Knicks have three players whom Jay Wright coached at Villanova, the retired Hall of Famer will not resume his career with New York, multiple media outlets reported on Saturday.

Former Villanova coach Jay Wright confirmed that he is not interested in the Knicks' head coaching vacancy and wishes to remain retired.

The New York Knicks are in the market for a new coach after firing Tom Thibodeau, and their focus is on established, experienced coaches. The Knicks are reportedly planning on requesting permission to interview Mavericks coach Jason Kidd for the job-- with the Rockets declining to allow them to do so with Ime Udoka.
