OAKMONT, Pa. — For a six-lane interstate carving its way through a world-famous golf course, the Pennsylvania Turnpike at Oakmont is surprisingly unintrusive.
J.J. Spaun managed the rain and a tough Oakmont course to win the 2025 U.S. Open, the first major victory for the California-native.
It got a little soggy – even a little muddy – but in the end, J.J. Spaun did enough to beat par (and a field of 155 players) to win the U.S. Open
Unbeknownst to even hardcore golf fans, this year's U.S. Open site used to have a neighbor, an 18-hole course anyone could play.
