The ICC has released its pitch ratings for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy with the Perth Stadium, Adelaide Oval, Gabba and the MCG pitches all receiving the highest 'very good' rating and the SCG given the second top category 'satisfactory'.

The remaining pitches at the four other venues of the just-concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy have been rated 'very good'

The SCG pitch has been criticized by former Indian cricketers Dilip Vengsarkar and Sunil Gavaskar. Vengsarkar called the pitch "substandard" and heavily biased toward pacers, making batting extremely difficult.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has rated the pitches used during recently concluded Border-Gavaskar Trophy series in Australia. ICC restructured their pitch rating system which was introduced in 2023 reducing its categories to four: Very Good, Satisfactory, Unsatisfactory, and Unfit.
