South Pleasant Valley Road between Cesar Chavez Street and South Lakeshore Boulevard is closed while crews work to resolve the issue.

Crews have successfully installed a temporary barrier at Longhorn Dam to prevent a further drop in water level at Lady Bird Lake after one of the dam’s gates failed Tuesday.

AUSTIN, Texas - The water levels of Lady Bird Lake are dropping due to a broken gate at Longhorn Dam. During scheduled work earlier on Tuesday, Jan. 28, one of nine gates at Longhorn Dam failed to close, causing the Lady Bird Lake level to begin dropping. The cause of the failure is under investigation.
