Clint Hill, the last surviving member of former President John F. Kennedy's security detail who was with the president on the day that he was assassinated in the streets of Dallas has died

A Secret Service agent who tried to shield former President John F. Kennedy from an assassin’s gunfire in 1963 died on Monday. Clint Hill, 93, died at his California home from unknown causes. He had been serving on presidential security detail for just three years when he made the move that defined his career.

Hill received Secret Service awards and was promoted for his actions that day, but for decades blamed himself for Kennedy's death, saying he would gladly have given his life to save the president.
