R-Truth's quick return to WWE involved direct negotiations with one of the company's top executives. Fightful Select (via Steve Carrier of Ringside News) reported Truth initially seemed to be a little reticent to engage with WWE in the days after his exit. However, "things opened up" when WWE president Nick Khan entered the picture.

Last week the WWE Universe was unified against the promotion for the decision to cut the beloved R-Truth, but many were overjoyed to see the veteran return to the promotion during Money in the Bank, where he turned on John Cena.
