Valve Will Release A SteamOS Beta For Multiple Handhelds
Valve shared some welcome news about running SteamOS on devices beyond the Steam Deck or the officially licensed Legion Go S model.
Valve will officially let you install SteamOS on other handhelds as soon as this April
SteamOS was always supposed to be bigger than Valve’s own Steam Deck, and 2025 is the year it finally expands. Not only will Lenovo ship the first third-party SteamOS handheld this May, Valve has now revealed it will let you install a working copy of SteamOS on other handhelds even sooner than that.

As far as the Lenovo Legion Go S release date, right now there are two different launch windows: The high-end spec with the Z1 Extreme will be available later in January running Windows 11 for $729, and the version with the Z2 Go will be available in May, which will cost $599 for the Windows 11 version, and $499 for the SteamOS version.
