A leading scorer for a men's college basketball team died suddenly at the age of 24 over the weekend. Ishmael Smith, a junior guard from Maryland, passed away on December 14. He was a leading scorer for the West Virginia State University’s men’s basketball team.

The Michigan State Spartans face the Toledo Rockets in this Tuesday night college basketball matchup at the Breslin Center.
