Former England football captain David Beckham, Oscar-winning actor Gary Oldman and The Who front man Roger Daltrey are among the prominent figures awarded knighthoods in this year’s King’s Birthday Honours list.

David Beckham has been finally awarded a knighthood after he was included in King Charles' Birthday Honours List. Beckham, 50, is one of many whose individual contribution to Great Britain have been recognised by the head of state.

David Howden has been honoured in King Charles’ Birthday Honours list. The founder and chief executive of UK broker Howden has been awarded a CBE for services to the insurance industry. He started his career as a broker at Alexander Howden in 1981 and then founded Howden in 1994, originally as a wholesale broker employing just three people.
