Alaska police say a brown bear attacked a woman as she hiked on a popular trail in Alaska’s Chugach Mountains.

The woman was hiking the Basher Trail in Alaska's Chugach Mountains when the bear attacked and mauled her, the Anchorage Fire Department said.

Alaska state troopers used a helicopter to take the woman off the Basher Trail to hospital, Anchorage Police spokesperson Christopher Barraza said.
