Tony Dokoupil will take over as the new anchor of “CBS Evening News,” the network announced on Wednesday. Dokoupil, 44, is currently one of three anchors of “CBS Mornings,” which he has co-hosted with Gayle King and Nate Burleson since 2019.

TYLER, Texas — CBS News named CBS Mornings anchor Tony Dokoupil as the new anchor for CBS Evening News, America’s longest-running nightly newscast. This is the latest change in the network. On Tuesday, CBS said Matt Gutman will join as chief correspondent from ABC News. He will also lead 48 Hours, contribute to 60 Minutes and fill-in anchor.
