Mac Jones had a career resurgence with the San Francisco 49ers this season. The backup quarterback started eight games while Brock Purdy dealt with injuries, and Jones delivered. He threw for at least 275 yards and two touchdowns in five of those starts.
As expected, the San Francisco 49ers are drawing interest from teams for Mac Jones. Several teams need a starting-caliber quarterback. Jones would provide an immediate upgrade to them, like the Minnesota Vikings. Trading or retaining Jones can go either way.
“So it’s definitely motivating for me. I feel like I can get back and do that. And I have my swag back, and I feel like that’s important to me. And I can go out there and win games for whoever.” After signing as a free agent last offseason to back up Purdy, Jones started eight games in 2025 because of Purdy’s toe injury.
