The time off will be helpful for a few key players dealing with injuries, and it could allow quarterback Patrick Mahomes to be 100% before taking on the Philadelphia Eagles at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Feb.

NFL writer Cody Benjamin projected that the Chiefs may take a shot at former Jets starter and current Broncos backup Zach Wilson, who has thrown for nearly 6,300 yards so far in three NFL seasons. Wilson did not play a snap for the Broncos this past season, but still may hold value among some teams, including the Chiefs.
