A June 18 testing explosion laid bare concerns about minimal regulatory oversight of Elon Musk's commercial space business in Starbase.

Officials say one person was killed and 14 others injured in a gas explosion and fire in a 17-story apartment building in the Bronx.

Utilities in the building have been shut down, and 148 units are vacated, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani said in a briefing.

Richard Oman, 79, and Mary Oman, 75, were inside their Lone Rock residence when the explosion happened. They were found nearby, attempting to stay warm in a vehicle. Both suffered significant burns and injuries and were initially treated at Richland Hospital before being airlifted to UW Health University Hospital in Madison.

The explosion occurred while first responders were at the scene at the Bronx building on Saturday, Jan. 24
