Dallas police officers shot to death a civilian who opened fire early Monday on people on a street of bars in the city’s downtown, according to the police department. The officers confronted the shooter after he or she fired upon multiple people about 2 a.m. in the 2000 block of Commerce Street, Dallas police said.

Family and friends are remembering 23-year-old Aya Knox after police say she was fatally struck by a car on Elm Street.
