Three New York City Police Department detectives say NYU Langone staff mistreated them after mistaking them for federal immigration agents, dismissing one from the waiting room while their partner sought medical treatment last Friday.

Police officials say the detectives arrived at the emergency room at NYU Langone Health in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn, but they were confronted by security guards who questioned who they were and why they were there.
