S3 Files, a native file system interface on top of Amazon Simple Storage Service offers developers simplicity and CIOs a more unified, cost-efficient data architecture, analysts say.

Amazon Web Services Inc. has launched a feature called Amazon S3 Files that will make it easier for customers to manage the data they keep in its cloud. The capability rolled out on Tuesday.

AWS makes S3 buckets usable as a file system for the first time. The service supports NFS 4.1+ and automatically synchronizes changes with the bucket.
