Astronaut Butch Wilmore, who rode to the space station in June 2024 with Suni Williams aboard the Boeing Starliner, is retiring from NASA.

Wilmore worked with NASA for 25 years and spent a total of 464 days in space, nearly two-thirds of which came on his final voyage.

Wilmore, 62, had already retired from the Navy. Williams, 59, also a retired Navy captain, is still with NASA. She joined Second Lady Usha Vance at Johnson Space Center in Houston earlier this week, taking part in a summer reading challenge for schoolchildren.
