Oracle (NYSE:ORCL) and OpenAI, backed by Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT), have announced a partnership to build 4.5 gigawatts of additional Stargate data center capacity in the U.S., pushing total capacity under development to over 5GW.
Oracle stock was down after a report the Stargate AI project has been scaled back in the near term. But the company is still set to gain from a huge deal with OpenAI.
Oracle and OpenAI are developing additional data-center capacity for the AI infrastructure project — but Evercore says investors are wondering how Oracle will finance the cost.
