John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan were relieved that 49ers’ top pick Mykel Williams escaped the NFL Draft’s top-10 slots to land on their recalibrating defensive line.

GM John Lynch said the player’s size, athleticism, toughness, versatility and character that showed through on film and during a visit to the team facility.

With the 11th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, the San Francisco 49ers have selected Georgia defensive lineman Mykel Williams.
