The San Diego Padres have joined the group of teams that are looking to add Chicago White Sox outfielder Luis Robert Jr. ahead of Thursday's trade deadline.

White Sox center fielder Luis Robert Jr. could end up on a different team by the end of the day, and the Padres might be a good fit.

Despite that, though, Robert may not actually get traded. "Although the White Sox have spoken with a number of teams about Luis Robert Jr., sources say it's more likely he stays with Chicago through the Trade Deadline," MLB.com's Mark Feinsand wrote on X. The key to this decision-making is all contained in Robert's contract.
