East Lansing grad Evan Boyd transfers to Michigan State

Michigan State football added another wide receiver via the transfer portal on Saturday night. Central Michigan transfer wide receiver Evan Boyd announced his commitment to the Spartans on Saturday. Boyd made the commitment known via a post on social media platform X.

Evan Boyd announced his pledge to the Spartans after two seasons with Central Michigan. Boyd was an All-State wide receiver with East Lansing in 2022.

A familiar name will be visiting East Lansing this weekend, according to a report from 247Sports’ Allen Trieu. Evan Boyd, who has elected to transfer away from Central Michigan, will be taking a weekend trip to Michigan State. Boyd, a familiar name and face, is from East Lansing and is the brother of former Spartan Ethan Boyd.

Boyd was rated a three-star prospect out of high school while starring as a receiver for East Lansing. He was named to the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association Dream Team in 2022 after setting a single-season school record with 994 receiving yards. He had 61 catches and six touchdowns as a senior.

Tight end Mason Mini announced his commitment to transfer to the Spartans via social media. The 6-foot-5, 240-pound product of California played for Idaho in the Division I Football Championship Subdivision the past two seasons. He has three years of eligibility remaining.
