As tens of thousands of Catholics wait in hourslong lines to pay their respects to Pope Francis, many are debating the direction of the church.

Pope Francis will be remembered for elevating women to positions of power within the Catholic Church. Vatican author, historian and guide Elizabeth Lev joins Chris Jansing at the Vatican to reflect on the changes the Pope made.

Some people said the pope's compassion inspired them. Others said he was too liberal or that no pope would affect how they think about their Catholicism.
