In a statement, Walmart confirmed some employees are taking part in a body camera pilot program, including at one Texas location.

Walmart said it is testing employees wearing body cameras in a "handful of stores" as a way to protect its employees and tackle soaring theft rates.

The pilot program involves multiple stores in Denton, which have posted signs letting customers know body cameras are being used.
