The brackets for the Class 3A, 2A and 1A basketball state tournaments were released on Saturday, marking the beginning of the state tournament. The first round of the playoffs for Class 3A and Class 1A will start on Wednesday, with the second round starting on Saturday. The state championship games are scheduled for Mar. 8.

This year, the playoff bracket doubled with a split into Division I and Division II, following a format UIL uses for football. Last year, only one team won a state championship per class, but that changes later this month.
