Four Benton County firefighters and a fire engine are heading to California to battle the devastating wildfires.

Several states have responded to calls for help, sending fire crews to California to combat wildfires in Los Angeles. Firefighters from neighboring states are already on the ground helping to contain the growing blaze.

Idaho is mobilizing five firefighting task forces in a response to a request from the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services.

The multiple wildfires burning in Los Angeles County are too large for one fire department to battle alone. Fire agencies from around the state and Bay Area are sending help.

Fire crews in Washington are awaiting word on if they will be going to Los Angeles tohelp fight the fierce wildfires raging in the area.
