Wonder if this place is still available… Was not able to locate it. Drove around a lot where GPS said it should be; however, we missed finding it..Full review by Kathy H

Fun location to visit if you have never been there. Remote location and the scenery is nice, especially in spring when the desert flowers are blooming.Full review by Earl C

Q:
Is the road to Whitney Pockets all right for a passenger car?
A:
Yes - I travelled there in a Honda Insight. The road condition is not good and needs to be travelled slowly, but it is possible in a passenger car.

The "arch" in my photo is not really an arch (more of a shallow cave with an arched opening, and partially closed by rock-work done by the CCC called a store room wall. About when the pavement on the Gold Butte Road ends at Whitney Pockets and the road divides, bear left on the "Arizona road" and go about 1/4 mile and park before it dips down into a wash, To see the CCC dam, go east about 100+ ft to a watering trough then to your left is a narrow canyon and the dam is about 150 ft into the canyon. To reach the store room wall, return to your car, then walk across the road about 250 ft southeast to the east side of a large red sandstone hill (the arch/store room should be visible almost anywhere on the east side of the hill). I left my car in the one spot and walked around the rocky outcroppings; I didn't drive beyond Whitney Pockets; I had read the road got progressively worse & although I have 4wd, I only have moderate clearance.
Q:
Is there wheelchair accessibility?
A:
The road going in used to be paved but there isn't much of it left and it is extremely rough driving unless you are in a truck or SUV. I really don't think it would be worth it because the …

The road going in used to be paved but there isn't much of it left and it is extremely rough driving unless you are in a truck or SUV. I really don't think it would be worth it because the stress around Mesquite is just as interesting.
